WELCOME

The Oblates of the Holy Spirit have recently joined with the Franciscan Brothers of the Divine Providence. Thus OHS now becomes FOHS -- Franciscan Oblates of the Holy Spirit. Members of the FOHS are now considered Third Order Franciscans. Therefore, the FOHS is now under the authority of Bishop Jose Delgado who is our new Spiritual Father. Working with Bishop Delgado is Father Richard Lewis, who is now Spiritual Director of the Order. The Discernment Committee is composed of the following members: the Spiritual Father, the Spiritual Director, House Director Coordinator, Director of Prison Ministries, Director of Spirituality, Novice Master, Director of Communications, Treasurer, and Recorder. At this time, the FOHS will hold a Bi-Annual International Meeting of the Executive Committee and members on even-numbered years. Executive Committee members serve a period of four-years, after which they must stand down for a minimum of two-years. The Spiritual Director serves for an indefinite period of time unless the position is vacated at the decision of the Spiritual Father or the Discernment Committee.

The Spiritual Director of the FOHS reports directly to the Spiritual Father. All Postulant Oblates report directly to the Novice Master for training in the Rule during the term of their postulancy (a minimum of one year and one day). Each House has a separate organization, consisting of an Executive Committee, and a House Director who is responsible for the daily administration of that House. A Director of Vocations oversees the spiritual direction of the members. A Recorder of the House maintains minutes and financial records. Br. John-David, FOHS as been appointed by Fr. Richard to be his Assistant Spiritual Director.
