1. Study and read The Rule of FOHS at least weekly.
2. Make an annual spiritual retreat of a few days.
3. Participate in a work of mercy: Counseling, comforting, forgiving, feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick or imprisoned.
4. Participate weekly in worship services.
5. Submit to the Warden an annual report, during the month of January, regarding one’s spiritual progress and a report on one's works of mercy.
6. Pray the Daily Offices (A minimum of two, i.e., Morning Evening Prayer, or Compline).
7. Read a Spiritual Classic annually.
8. Yearly, during the month of January, each Franciscan Oblate of the Holy Spirit shall renew his/her oblation. To do so, the following words are to be signed and sent to the Abbot of the Oblates as affirming this decision to continue in the Order. A renewal fee of $20.00 is to be submitted annually to the Abbot, along with the report on spiritual progress.
