Thursday, May 3rd -- Saturday, May 6th

My dear OHS family: Greetings and blessings!  We had a blessed time during our Chapter meeting. It was a time of fellowship, prayer, communication and celebration. The facilities at Richmond Hill exceeded my expectations and the view of the city of Richmond was magnificent. One brother came from Canada and others came from Georgia, Wisconsin, Virginia, Maryland and Texas.

The thirteen of us that converge in Virginia carry out the business of the Order with a sense of awe and responsibility. As your Abbot I felt challenge to move the Order to the next level and felt very much reinvigorated. We discuss the draft of the Articles of Incorporation and gave our blessing to have the OHS incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Soon we will have some pictures in our website to give you an idea of the meeting place and the wonderful gathering there.

We authorized the use of polo shirt with the Jerusalem Cross or OHS logo as an alternative "habit" for those times that the more formal vestments are somewhat difficult to wear. Prior Stephen-Andrew has found a good resource for these shirts and soon we hope to have pictures of them and how to get them. We also approve the development of a monastic-style working habit that our Director of Communications, Br. John-David will develop and make available to us for purchasing.

I also made some new appointments. Fr. Richard Lewis was appointed new Novice Master after the request of Sr. Monica-Teresa to step down from that position. I have an eternal debt of gratitude to Sr. Monica-Teresa for her dedication and commitment to her ministry.  It is because of her efforts that we enjoy a wonderful novice formation course that has enriched so many of you. Sr. Monica-Teresa will work with Fr. Lewis for several months until he has a good working knowledge of his duties and will also continue writing the weekly devotion. I'm sure that Sr.
Monica-Teresa will always be part of our leadership team.

I also appointed Sr. Kat Joynt-Duval, n/OHS as the General Chancellor of the OHS. She replaces Fr. Richard Lewis, OHS who was just beginning to develop this office. Sr. Kat is an attorney and an extremely humble lady that is very dedicated to our mission to serve the neglected.  I received as an OHS priest, Fr. Stephen G. Baker, OHS (Br. Damian-Joseph). He comes to us from a jurisdiction in the Anglican tradition and has found that his calling as a priest will be better served as an Order priest. I agreed and joyfully have received him.

We already working on our next Chapter meeting and Brs. Aidan-Dominic and John-David have been assigned the responsibility to do a search of meeting place in the Mid-West of the United States of America.

Every day we met we prayed for all members of the Order by name. Please remember all of us in your prayers. May the Lord bless all of you.

Your servant,
Br. Antonio-Manuel, OHS
Abbot by the Grace of God
